New chapter:
Growing up in southeast Texas in the community of Nederland, I use to ride my bike around town during the summers with no destination or purpose. I would just wander around, exploring the area. I would see my neighbor whittling on the porch, people fishing in the pond, railroad workers building the new rails.
That small town America is something I’ve desperately missed since moving to the city of Seattle. Thankfully I’ve been able to find a community in West Seattle and just recently Everett, Washington and have had the privilege of sharing my experiences in the West Seattle Blog and The Everett Herald. But I miss that small town life where everyone knows who you are and what you do in the community and working at the small community newspapers that know everything that is going on in town. That is where my heart lies and so I’m moving on from this beautiful place set in between the mountains and the Puget Sound.
I’m happy to begin my newest position working for the community of Eureka, California at the Times-Standard. Here is week one.
